Topics purpose: The aim of the study is evaluating the therapeutic effect of theproximal femoral nail antirotation (PFNA) system in patients with intertrochantericfemoral。We sum up experience to improve the clinical level of awareness of this surgicalmethod. Methods: This study included27patients chosen from the hospitalized cases inOctober2010to October2011,we followed up these cases for5to7months. We recordedpatient age, duration of hospitalization, fracture type, surgical blood loss, fluoroscopytimes, healing time, preoperative and postoperative Harris hip score, then make a statisticalanalysis. Results: All patients were clinically cured. The average age of the patients was77.8years (range35to95), the average hospital stay was16days(range5to31), the meanoperation time was62.3minutes (range45to115), mean blood loss was215.6ml (range150to350), the average fluoroscopy number is6.3(range5to8), the postoperative healingtime was16.2weeks (range12to18), and the average Harris hip function score is88.2(range75to95), We got an excellent rate of92.86%.Conclusion: PFNA has the advantage of the biomechanical characteristics; patientscan get the effect of treatment with a higher cure rate. It’s simple to operate, and gives lesstrauma.Fracture is fixed firmly, patients can get early postoperative mobilization withfewer complications, avoid the complications caused by staying in bed, PFNAosteosynthesis is suitable for all types of intertrochanteric fracture, and worth a wideapplication.
