Objective: To build up a complex intervention model for undergraduate internetaddiction instructed by health care promotion and based on a college so as to evaluatethe its influence over undergraduate internet addiction and psychological health stateand the method to deal with as well as doing some research into school interventionmethod for undergraduate internet addiction.Methods: To analyze deeply the related factors of undergraduate internet addiction bythe measure of article review. The questionnaire was adopted to know the undergraduateinternet addiction present status of two college schools around a university garden. Theintervention method was made under the instruction of health care promotion.220students in School A were selected randomly as the intervention group. Meanwhile,205students in School B were selected randomly as the control group. The interventiongroup were given health care education, academic society activities, social workpractice, peer education and individual teaching as the complex intervention for a year.The control group were given nothing as the vacant control. The internet addictioncondition, psychological health status and coping methods after intervention wasinvestigated. The change of the two groups’ condition was compared by χ2test andindividual sample t test. The difference is significant if P<0.05.Results:1.After the intervention, the prevalence of addiction tendency was4.6%,lowered by9.9%, which showed statistical significance (P<0.01) while that of addictionwas3.2%, lowered by7.7%, the difference had statistical significance (P<0.01) but notcompared with the control group(P>0.05).2. The students of study-oriented internet using in intervention group were significantlymore than that before intervention and control group (P<0.01). Andentertainment-oriented internet using in intervention group were significantly less than that before intervention and control group (P<0.01).The students select “computerbar” in intervention group were significantly decreased and the “dormitory”wereincreased. The students who spending less than2hours online each time in theintervention group were significantly increased (P<0.01).And the students whospending more than4hours were significantly decreased compared with beforeintervention and control group (P<0.05).3. The total scores and all factors of “CIAS-R” of intervention group were significantlylowered than before intervention. And in total scores、compulsive symptoms、withdrawal symptoms and tolerance symptoms factors scores were significantlylowered than control group(P<0.01).4. The total scores and all factors of “SCL-90” of intervention group were significantlylowered than before intervention and control group(P<0.01).5. The positive coping style scores of intervention group were significantly higher thancontrol group(P<0.01).And the negative coping style scores were significantly loweredthan before intervention and control group(P<0.01).Conclusions: A complex intervention model that based on college, which instructed byhealth care promotion, can effectively decrease the prevalence of addiction tendencyand internet addiction, improve the internet addiction symptoms, improve the cognitionof internet using, Optimization the behavior internet using, increase the psychologicalhealth level and change the negative dealing measures.
