| Objective:This study is aimed to observe whether TONGTAI decoction can enhance the clinical effect of chemotherapy improving symptoms of advanced colorectal cancer patients,as well as relieving the toxic and side effects caused by chemotherapy.Methods:40cases of advanced colorectal cancer patients were chosen and randomly divided into two groups,20cases of trial group were treated with TONGTAI decoction and XELOX regimen chemotherapy, another20cases of control group were treated with XELOX regimen only. After2cycles of treatment,compare the patients of the two groups in local tumor size,clinical symptom amelioration, QOL score, KPS score, degree of side effects caused by chemotherapy and physical strength and analyze the differences between the two groups.Results:After2cycles of treatment, the patients of the two groups have no significant difference in objective curative effect、in reducing the value of serum CEA and in KPS score improvemnet (P>0.05).While they have significant difference in the improvement of clinical symptoms(P<0.05),especially in improving abdominal pain、diarrhea、weakness. QOL score have significant difference(P<0.05) between the two groups. The two groups have similarity (P>0.05)in toxic and side effects,but the trial group has milder toxic and side effects than the control one in nausea and vomiting with significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the treatment of advanced colorectal cancer, TONGTAI decoction has proven its function of enhancing the effect of chemotherapy.relieving the toxic and side effects caused by chemotherapy,improving clinical symptoms、general condition and life quality of patients.It is worthwhile to be further researched and widely employed in advanced CRC. |
