Clinical Observation Of Chemotherapy Combined With Herbal Treatment For Post Operative Colorectal Cancer

Objective:To observe the clinical outcome of chemotherapy combined with Chinese medicine post colorectal cancer operation.Methods:60 patients post colorectal cancer operation were enrolled in our study,then randomly divided into treatment group which were treated with combination of chemotherapy and Chinese medicine(N=30) and control groups which were treated with chemotherapy(N=30).the program FOLFOX6:OXA 85mg/m2 intravenous infusion of 2hous,day l,CF 400mg/m2 intravenous infusion of 2 hous,day l,FU 400mg/m2 intravenous infusion the first day l,1200mg/m2/d Continuous intravenous infusion for two days,the first l,2 dyas,repeated every 2 weeks.Chi-square test and t test were applied to analysis the data including TCM(Traditional Chinese Medicine) syndrome, TCM symptom scores,peripheral blood cell counts,gastrointestinal reaction,liver function,nerve toxicity reaction,T cells subgroup.Results:Post the treatment,the differences of TCM syndromes between 2 groups were significant(70.00%vs26.67%,P<0.05),the respectively corresponding TCM symptom scores were 8.36±3.81 vs 15.40±4.90(P<0.05). the Chinese medicine group were significantly higher than the control group(P<0.05),the damage of Liver function wassignificant lower in treatment group compared with the control group(P<0.05).the incidence of the digestive tract reaction and neurotoxicity was significant lower in treatment group compared with the control group(P<0.05).The CD4+(%) and CD8+(%)in treatment group compared with the control group were showed as 43.40±5.09 vs35.09±5.28,30.20±5.63 vs 34.13±5.90(P<0.05).Conclusions:Chemotherapy combined with Chinese medicine post colorectal cancer surgery can reduce adverse reaction caused by chemotherapy and improve the immunity.
