Clinical Observation Of Effect Of Compound Zao Jiao Ci (Gleditsiae Spina) Decoction With Chemotherapy On Terminal-stage Non-small Cell Lung Cancer

Objective:Clinically observe effect of compound ZaoJiaoCi decoction with PP regime on terminal-stage non-small cell lung cancer with syndrome of qi and yin deficiency.Method:40 cases of appropriate patients,either admitted or clinical,were collected from department of oncology of Chinese Medicine Hospital of Jiansu Province during April of 2017 to February of 2018.The 40 cases were segregated into Treatment group and control group,patients of the former group were administered compound ZaoJiaoCi decoction with PP regime while the latter one were treated with PP regime alone.Both group received 4 cycles of chemotherapy(PP Regime).Since one cycle needs 21 days and a complete treatment was 12 weeks.On top of compound ZaoJiaoCi decoction and PP regime,herbal prescriptions were delicately adjusted for patients in the treatment group of corresponding symptoms.Clinical observations were made before the start of the treatment and after the completion of the chemotherapy based on changes of patients' symptoms in order to evaluate effect of the treatment.Result:Significant advantage of the treatment group were not observed in terms of effectiveness and stability in controlling size of tumor when compared to the control group as well as the reduction of tumor markers.On the other hands,treatment group have relative advantags in terms of several parts of Chinese medicine symptoms,physical condition and quality of life.85%of patients in treatment group have shown improvement in KPS scores,while its 65%in the control group.The difference between two groups has statistical significance because p<0.05.Although difference in terms of toxicity and side effect between two groups has no statistical significance as P>0.05,number of three degree side effect cases reported were lower than the control group.Conclusion:the treatment of compound zaojiaoji decoction with PP regime are able to stabilize and alleviate clinical symptoms of Chinese medicine for patients'having NSCLC at advanced stage.The treatment are also aloe to enhance quality of life,improve physical condition and is safe to apply clinically.It can be concluded that the decoction can reduce toxicity and enhance effect of chemotherapy(PP regime).Therefore,this study has proven feasibility of modern medicine and Chinese medicine integration in treating late state NSCLC and hence the study is worthy of further investigation and wider clinical application.
