ObjectiveObjective evaluation of the clinical efficacy of the Acupoint Applicati-on on constipationg after stroke. By comparing the efficacy between the Acu-point Application group(Treatment Group) and the Acupuncture group(Control Group), to investigate the clinical value and the significance of populariza-tion of the acupoint application therapy of the disease.MethodBy adopting random and compared research methods, sixty cases that met the inclusion criteria are divided into two groups, Acupoint Application group (Treatment Group) and Acupuncture group (Control Group). Treatment Group adopts Chinese medicine sticking on Shenque, Tianshu, Guanyuan, with Control Group adopts acupuncture, treating on Zhigou, Quchi, Neiting. All patients in the two groups are treated for seven days, once a day. To evaluat the efficacy we ado-pting constipation efficacy criteria of Traditional Chinese Drug Guidelines for Clinical Research, Constipation Clinical Score Table, First Defecation Ti-me and Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score Table of gastrointestinal diseases. Besides, the adverse reactions of two groups are also be observed.ResultsBaseline data in the two groups before treatment were comparable (P>0.05) by statistical analysis. After seven days treatment, nine cases healed, eleven cases effected, seven cases validated, three cases invalidated in the Treatment Group, the total efficiency was90.00%, while three cases healed, eight cases effected, eleven cases validated, eight cases incalidated in the Control Group, the total efficiency was73.33%. The difference of the efficacy between the two groups was statistically significant(P<0.05), the Treatment Group is bett-er than the Control Group. Compared Constipation Clinical symptom Score before and after treatment, difference among the Treatment Group was statistically significant (P<0.01), difference among the Control Group was statistically sig-gnif icant (P<0.01), difference between the two groups was statistically signif-icant (P<0.01). This suggested that both the Treatment Group and the Control Group can reduce the constipation clinical score, but the Treatment Group is better than the Control Group;Compared First Defecation Time between the two groups the difference was statistically significant(P<0.01).This suggested that the first defecation time of the Treatment Group is shorter than the Control Group;Compared the Traditional Chinese Medicine Syndrome Score of gastrointestinal diseases, difference among the Treatment Group was statistic-ally significant (P<0.01), difference among the Control Group was statistically significant signiff icant (P<0.01), difference between the two groups was stati-stically significant (P<0.01). This suggested that both the Treatment Group and the Control Group can reduce the traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome score of gastrointestinal diseases, but the Treatment Group is better than the Contr-ol Group;Compared the adverse reactions of two groups, the Treatment Group was6.67%, the Control Group was16.67%, the difference was not statistically signi-ficant (P>0.05). This suggested that the advers reactions occurrence between the two groups were essentially the same.ConclusionAcupoint Application therapy can significantly reduce the clinical symp-toms of constipation and improce the traditional Chinese Medicine syndrome of gastrointestinal diseases after stroke, shorten the time of first defecat-ion, and the Clinical efficacy is better than the acupuncture therapy. This group. This method is simple, safe, good compliance. So Acupoint Application th-rapy can be used as one of the effective treatments to treat the constipation after stroke...
