Objective:This study was conducted in a randomized controlled clinical trial,to observe the changes of Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life scale(PAC-QOL),the stool character score(Brisol stool method)and Cleveland Clinic Score(CCS)in patients with constipation after stroke treated by needling the stomach and intestine Shu and Mu points. To explore the clinical efficacy of acupuncture and moxibustion in the treatment of constipation after stroke to provide a certain theoretical basis.Methods:66 patients from the First Affiliated Hospital of Heilongjiang University of Traditional Chinese Medicine with post-stroke constipation were randomly divided into two groups: group A(treatment group)and group B(control group),33 patients in each group were involved in the clinical study. All patients were treated with routine treatment and individual treatment.According to the stroke unit model, the treatment group was treated with Weishu,Dachangshu,Xiaochangshu and Zhongwan,Tianshu and Guanyuan, and the control group used the constipation routine treatment points,Dachangshu,Tianshu,Shangjuxu, and Zhigou. The two groups were given acupuncture for 30 minutes, once a day for 6 days and rest for 1 day,and 7days as a course of treatment. After 4 weeks of continuous treatment, the curative effect was evaluated. The stool character score(Brisol stool method),Cleveland Clinic Score(CCS)and Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life scale(PAC-QOL)of patients with constipation were recorded in the two groups. The changes of these data were analyzed statistically compared with the data before treatment.Result:1.Before treatment, the general situation of the two groups was compared(gender, age, course of disease, stroke type,NIHSS score),Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life scale(PAC-QOL),the stoolcharacter score(Brisol stool method),and Cleveland Clinic Score(CCS),and there was no statistical difference(P > 0.05).2.The total scores of CCS,the score of clinical symptom of each factor of CCS,the score of stool character(Brisol stool method)and Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life scale(PAC-QOL)scores of constipation patients after treatment were lower than those before treatment between two groups, and there was significant difference between the two groups before and after treatment(P < 0.05).3.After treatment, the total score of CCS,the score of clinical symptom of each factor of CCS,the score of stool character(Brisol stool method)and Patient Assessment of Constipation Quality of Life scale(PAC-QOL)scores of constipation patients were compared between groups, and the scores in the treatment group were lower than those in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P < 0.05).4.The total effective rate was 81.82% in the treatment group and60.61% in the control group.Statistical test,P < 0.05,and the treatment group is better than the control group.Conclusion:1.In the groups of the stomach and intestine back-shu and front-mu acupoints and routine acpoints selection, both of them can improve the clinical symptoms, stool traits and quality of life of patients with constipation after stroke.2.The stomach and intestine back-shu and front-mu acupoints group in relieving symtoms of various factors is superior to the routine acpoints selection group.3.During the follow-up period, the symptoms of the two groups were recurrent in different degrees, but the recurrence rate in the stomach and intestine back-shu and front-mu acupoints group was significantly lower than that in the routine acpoints selection group.
