The First Exploration Of Medical Social Work Practice Of The Embeddedness

At present, medical social work is at beginning stage, because the current medical modes lack of the idea of people first and humanistic care which are advocated by the medical social work. The idea, method, function of human care shown by medical social work need the social work services set up in hospital and social workers and integrated social resources together to structure and explore. With the recent conflicts of doctor-patient constantly rising in areas, the doctor-patient communication becomes increasingly important, and the hospitals keep trying and inducing the medical social works. The medical social workers serve as a bridge and improvement in the doctor-patient communication. With the ideas of the patient-center, help others and self-help, and the professional methods of the individual case, the group, community and helping the client integrate the resources and build the social support network.The medical social work of the embeddedness is to make the medical social work embed into the practice of the hospital. Grasping the characteristics of the medical social work practice is in combination with the ideas of service and environment; applying to the idea of social work and professional method help the patients to counsel the stress and Burden of psychology, by integrating the resources to reduce the economic burden of patients, through the professional methods of the individual case, the group, community making the patients get the knowledge of the diseases and sharing the feeling each other; building the warm and harmonious air which is the people-center and life affect life, and enhance the doctor-patient communication, and play a important role of medical social work building up the humanistic service mode in hospital. The development of medical social work doesn’t separate from the government’s rules devised and the hospital’s acceptance, recognition, and the public’s attention, acceptance, and social service organization’s support and so on.In this paper, through the methods of the documentary review and case analysis, and applying the medical social work experience of Hong Kong and Taiwan and the work practices of a hospital in Nanjing, it gives us a different reflection and discussion about the position of medical social worker in medical social work practice of the embeddedness and the issues of medical social work and how to strengthen the communication of doctor-patient relationship.Part Ⅰ:It gives us an exposition of the research objects and the relevant Concept definition, and the background, review, as well as method of study.Part Ⅱ:It is mainly about medical social work experience in Hong Kong and Taiwan giving an enlightment and reference to the development of medical social work in main land.Part Ⅲ:With the case analysis, it mainly discusses the skills, methods and reflections of doctor-patient communication to be strengthened in medical social work practice.Part Ⅳ:It mainly aims that the medical social work of the embeddedness is to need government, hospital, social worker as well as integrated social resources together to build up the social service system.Part Ⅴ:It mainly explores the position and suggestion of medical social worker in the mode of the medical social work practice of the embeddedness.
