In recent years, with social progress and people’s living standards greatly improved, combine with China’s rapid social change, public health awareness of society would be enhanced, The demand for medical services is not limited to the treatment of the disease itself, the people begin the pursuit of improved quality of life, if its own right and interests had been infringed when no longer like before."dumb to eat the victims in silence ", Media coverage of the medical dispute case is increasing, the doctor-patient relationship is become strained, the doctor-patient conflicts simmering across the country, large and small medical malpractices have occurred. In medical and health field, especially in hospitals need to advance with the times, it is necessary to meet the new demands of the people, change the single biomedical mode to bio-social-psychological mode, with the concept of patient-centered services, strengthen the doctor-patient communication, build a harmonious doctor-patient relationship, harmony hospital is the current most important task. Conform to this social context, we need to develop medical social work.1study and practiced in Nanjing XX hospital in July2011to September, in my eyes, it is an honor to have the opportunity to study in the large hospital of medical social work field.In this paper, through practice and observation, combined with the hospital questionnaire do we survey, proceeding from and applying the basic principles and methods of social work, it gives us a discussion about the relevant issues of current doctor-patient relationship by which to grasp the its status, aiming to provide advice for the building of a harmonious doctor-patient relationship. And to explore the role of medical social workers in preventing and dealing with patient conflict, in order to further think of locating the role of medical social work. The paper has five parts as follows:In the first part, it gives a general idea of the researching background and meaning, relevant theory and literature review, and explains the researching though and methods.In the second part, define the related concepts,and explain to choose the hospital because of the practice, through an internship in the hospital, observed that the main performance of the physician-patient relationship is tense and increasing patient disputes, it serious threat to the health care activities, which cause great inconvenience to both doctors and patients, it analysis the existing problems of the doctor-patient relationship in terms of doctor, patient and medical management method, and then to grasp the building of a harmonious doctor-patient relationship.In the third part, understanding the role of medical social workers in building a harmonious doctor-patient relationship, combined with the practiced hospital,to grasp the situation of medical social work, analysis the impact factors of medical social workers to carry out.In the forth part, on the basis of grasping of above performance and reasons, the author introduces professional theories and methods of social work to the doctor-patient relationship, strengthen the doctor-patient communication between the two exchange mechanisms to provide more opportunities for exchange and communication, thus eliminate the barriers of patient’s trust mechanism, together towards harmony. Secondly, locate the role of medical social workers. Finally, the involvement of medical social workers must be appropriate.Finally, Summary and reflection. Summarize the conclusions of this study, to recognize the lack of research and think, in the case of my ability and time allowed will continue to explore feasible way to deal with doctor-patient relationship.
