In recent years,d ue to the phenomenon of increasing number and a ge ofpets,hernia was one of the the common surgical diseases and graduallyincreasing. This study conducted a surve y of incide nce of do g hernia in Shanghaiarea,from difference of genetic, age, gender, blunt force, as well as different petphysiological structure to analysis the hernia disease in different gender, age andseason.There were20721outpatient cases from ten pet hospitals,finally542cases wereidentified as hernia disease through X-ray, B-ultrasound and laboratory tests,in whichthe male cases were accounted for48.89%(265/542)and the female for51.11%(277/542).Hernia incidence were not significant in different seasons as well as indifferent age. Umbilical hernia usually happened in young pets, accounting for90.63%(213/235), perineal hernia in adult dogs, for87.50%(28/32), abdominalhernia occured mainly in the aging pets, about85.53%(65/76).Incisional hernias alsomultiple older dogs for80.65%(25/31)and adult dogs for19.35%(6/31).Diaphragmatichernia mostly by trauma,did not matter with their age factors.We used X-ray andultrasound B to deal with the suspected cases,The result showed that both results wereconsistent.The cases of different symptoms using the correspondingtreatmentmethods,and clinical cases treated mainly by operation.The study adopted the methodof wearing s uture of bo th sides of the hernia hole(left index finger into the pe ritonealcavity as the needle guide),finally,tying knots one by one.This method could ensurethat when the needle passes the muscle layer without damaging the internal organs,which was established for treatment of clinical hernia.We summarized and researched the clinical diagnosis and treatment of doghernia disease,in order to provide technical support about treatment and prevention ofcanine hernia.
