Fifty two cases of canine urolithiasis were investigated from December 2013 to February 2017.The diagnosis were mainly made by clinical signs,radiographic examination,ultrasonographic examination and chemical components of calculus were analysed.The results showed that the more susceptible breeds were teddy dogs,mastiff,and schnauzer;the incidence was higher between the ages of 7?8 years old;the cases number of female(54%)was more than male(46%);the most susceptible site was bladder,accounted for 71%;and the main chemical components were phosphate,oxalate,and urate,which accounted for 44%,35%,and 17%,respectively.Recurrent rates of different therapeutic procedures were compared under follow-up study.The results indicated that recurrent rate can be significant decreased in coadministration of traditional Chinese medicine after surgery.when the males of large breeds with kidney calculus or cystolith,or females with cystolith,which were not suitable to perform the surgery operation,traditional Chinese medicine could be taken to dissolve the calculus for conservative treatment.
