Reasonable schedule plan and effective schedule control are the most important link ofproject schedule management. According to the traditional schedule plan existing problemsThis article introduces a new method of project schedule management-critieal chainprojectmanagement after analyzing the project schedule management theory of constraintTraditional schedule management methods and then elaborating the basic idea andapplication methods.First it introduces Critical chain management method through expounding the theory ofproject schedule management theory of constraint and theory of management by constrainis.Critical chain management considers risk polymerization principle informulating projectschedule plan emphasizes to use system heory to consider problem in project managementPays atteniion to resoureeeonstrainis and those factors of human behavior maintains usingwhole time mechanism in order to shorten project time sets buffers to reduce risk.Seeond traditionals ehedule managemeni method sonl yeon side rthe logieal relationshipbetween working proeedures ignore resource constrainisand human behavior factors joinmuch safety time when estimating working procedure time cause resource confliets betweenParallelworking procedures and project delay.Critical chain management advoeateseliminating safety time of working procedure adopting aslateas possible time controllingcritieal chain setting buffers and so on toremedy the defeets of traditional schedule methods.It has made big improvements in estimating working Procedure time making schedule planand eontrolling schedule. Third the main idea of critieal chain15that manage projectwithcritical chain eonirol schedule by buffers.It constructed the model of project schedule fromidentifying critieal chain eliminating safety time setting buffer quantities buffersmanagement and so on. It uses heuristie algorithm to balaneere sources conflietion anddetermine critical chain: it has introduced project complexity theim portanteo efficient ofworking procedure risk elastic co efficient in setting buffer quantlties to make the buffercloser to the actual project. Ftha salso introduced buffer break through and action deeisionmatrix flgurein buffer management according to buffer consum ption and projcet completionstatus to contirol project schedule.Forth with the examples through traditional schedule methods and by contrast analysis show the advantage of critical chain management.
