GMDSS (Global Maritime Distress and Safety System), referred to the International Maritime Organization (IMO) developed and implemented for crew. When a board to cancel the radio operator, the GMDSS communication processes and methods is more necessary. Meanwhile, the GMDSS simulator for the training, the degree of realism and training effectiveness of the system is particularly important, especially voice communication process simulation to better reflect the realistic simulator. As a result, the modern voice communications in the GMDSS simulator system design is a worthy topic for further research.GMDSS simulator in teaching has been a long time, students also received a number of related operations experience. As a sailing teacher, training and teaching the GMDSS simulator, found that some of the shortcomings of the existing GMDSS simulator, especially in the GMDSS voice communication simulation, needs to improve and perfect.In order to make the GMDSS simulator more realistic situation, we focused on several important modules, which need to have voice communications. Through a large number of documents, we found the studies of previously GMDSS simulator focus on the simulator device emulation whether complete, the simulator interface whether realistic and simulator whether online of network-based simulation. While the voice communication module optimization and development has lagged behind, cannot be effective in the training process.Based on the GMDSS simulator which independent research and development, the direction of this study is increasing the GMDSS voice communication module, optimizing the stability of voice communications in the high-capacity network communication environment.This article contains:1. Analysis features for all parts of the GMDSS that needed voice communications.2. Set up the development of voice processing platform, and detailed system architecture design, compression algorithm optimization. 3. The network architecture based on RTP Protocol and optimization of network voice communications.
