Improvement Of GMDSS Simulator System Performance And Research On Inmarsat_F SES Simulator

The simulator of Navigation plays important role in the training and teaching of navigation, the simulator of GMDSS is one important part of the simulator of navigation. The STCW78/95 convention emphasizes the applications of simulator in the training. If we make use of the simulator of GMDSS in the physically operation training, we can solve the conflict between more people and less equipments, and it has characteristics of agility, efficiency and economy. In the authentication criterion of the A-level operating simulation on bridge, DNV puts forward the request for the simulators of GMDSS equipments. The study of GMDSS simulator has been one part of the study of high-quality navigation simulator.The paper introduces the composition and functions of GMDSS at system aspect. And it analyses the use and the capability request of GMDSS simulator in the STCW78/95 convention and SOLAS convention.The emphases of the paper are the improvement of the GMDSS simulator's system performance. Author introduces it from the following aspects.1. Add the functions of teaching organization, watching and control, and the simulation of LES and coast station in the instructor station of the GMDSS simulator. That is the improvements of performance in the instructor station of the GMDSS simulator.2. Improve the voice and data communication of the GMDSS simulator.3. The simulation of Inmarsat_B ship earth station, including telephone and telex.4. The simulation of Inmarsat_F ship earth station, including three parts: telephone, sending and receiving of email, operation terminal of PC.5. Integrate the GMDSS simulator into the navigation simulator as a module, and improve the capability of the navigation simulator.
