The Landscape Morphology Conservation And Development Research Of The Traditional Street In Xituo Town

The Southeast region of Chongqing is the intersection of the Ba, Shu, Chu and Han Cultures. The cultural diversity, specific historical background of "the athletics of support Sichuan Salt to Chu" and unique topographical features has created special characteristic and tradition architecture style of ancient towns in this region. Not only has the common features in Xituo Town, but also has its particularity as a transport salt road and the only channel of the Southeast region of Chongqing in the Yangtze River. With the development of modern urbanization, the impact of water conservancy construction, the stimulation of the tourism development boom, the traces of history in Xituo have been slowly fading. And as one of the minority having survived historical and cultural town on both sides of the Yangtze River, the imprint of history and local characteristics of Xituo are with high protection values.Based on the historical and cultural background, and the inhabited environment of Traditional settlement, this thesis analyses several levels of the landscape form of Historical district——Yunti street. And summarizes the characteristics for the following guidelines’ propounding for conservation and development measures of the ancient town. The thesis is divided into three parts:The first part is basic theory, the first chapter. First, there is a exposition about the relevant background for the Conservation and Development of the ancient towns. it introduces the research situation of the historical towns’ protection at home and abroad, ancient towns in china and the human settlements of Yangtze River Basin. Secondly, make a exposition about the object of study——the background of Xituo town’s change.The second part is from the second chapter to the fifth chapter. It relates and analyzes the process of the ancient town’s forming, development and evolution from the geography, natural and Humanities three areas. And summarize the ancient town’s overall landscape features, the characteristics of the Yunti-street’s space and architectural form, to provide the basis for the guides which are about the conservation and development of yunti-street. Furthermore, it describes the effects of the part of town’s submerging about the changes of the overall landscape style, Yunti-street’s features, monument architectures and the surrounding environment.The third part is the article’s direct conclusion. by making a investigation of the psychological adaptation of the ancient town residents and combining the conclusions of the second part’s research, it summarizes the problems and contradictions of the ancient town’s developing. And proposes a guideline for the feasible conservation and development measures of Yunti-street. It wants to protect the landscape features of the ancient town by a certain provision’s limit. At last, it proposes a series of issues about tourism-development measures that should pay attention to in the future, to be avoided to cause more damage by the tourism’s developing of the town.
