Study On The Structure Of Courtyard Field Spaces Of China Traditional Private Gardens

Chinese traditional private gardens are the valuable cultural heritages of our country. Whether the expression of the historical and cultural connotation, or the spatial relationships and place feelings it embodies, are worthy of our constant research and study. Suzhou’s Humble Administrator’s Garden, Lingering Garden, the Master-of-Nets Garden are all famous private gardens, and the space structure patterns, partition of spatial scale, layout and configuration of gardening elements of these gardens could reflect the essence of the art in the gardening of private gardens.There are many works of traditional Chinese garden, a considerable proportion among them are about private gardens. However, due to the influence of Western science, the introduction of the traditional Chinese garden and research-related books and literature almost aim to the factors analysis. This research method enables us a detailed and in-depth understanding of the characteristics of garden elements but lack of relationship research between the various elements, and lack of analysis and research of the overall aspects of the traditional gardens of the overall space systems, spatial structure pattern and spatial scale as well.This paper takes the Suzhou Lingering Garden, Humble Administrator’s Garden and the Master-of-Nets Garden as Chinese classical private representative gardens, att empting to start with our country’s traditional thinking perspective,through field inves tigation and consulting a large number of data and literature on the base of three gard en yard space structure, according to their different regional building, rocks, water, co rridor perioperative conformational space properties of elements and the yard space s cale for comparative analysis and summary, and tries to explain the ancient garden ya rd space structure model, the physical elements of the characteristics and the yard spa ce classification problems.This article based on the critical angle to look at and study traditional garden, efforts to find the aesthetic law of traditional private gardens with the essence of classical field space, to identify the inner connection in space essential between it and Modern Garden Design which to make Chinese traditional culture penetrates in present age. This is the practical significance of this article.
