A Study Of Land Economical And Intensive Use Of Zhoukou City

Land is the basis for human survival and development, the development of a region is the process that human beings use the land continuously. Because of the limited land area, on one hand land can not be wasted, which needs economical land use; on the other hand getting values as much as possible from certain land is pursuited, which requires intensive land use. Large population and small land is the basic national conditions of China. The contradiction between land supply and demand is very prominent. A large number of economic development need land occupation, with the constraints that cultivation land can't be reduced, new land development and construction have been unrealistic, conservative and intensive land use becomes imperative. Zhoukou is agriculture-based region, has a high percentage of agricultural land and is a major grain production base in Henan Province, but the economy is relatively backward. To achieve the development, implementation of economical and intensive land use is essential.In this paper, the economical and intensive land use status of Zhoukou City, Henan Province, is analysis. The positive results of economical and intensive land use are summerized and some measures of promoting intensive land use are proposed. The analysis concentrates on the protection of farmland, land defragmentation, land construction, land reservations and "three rectification" to explains how to realize intensive land use in Zhoukou and the results achieved, and also summers up the problems that still exist. Combined the theory with the concrete practical situation of Zhoukou, a number of measures to promote economical and intensive land use are present.
