PCI bus is the most popular bus interface in the computer system. The device with the PCI bus interface can be used in most circumstances. And DSP has powerful real time data process ability and is the device that present the latest technology on microelectronics, digital signal process and computer science. The DSP processor card with the PCI interface has the advantage of both the popular interface and the real time data process ability.This article is based on the R&D project of a high performace 2 DSP processor card with the PCI bus interface. The chip that the DSP processor card use is TS201 of ADI company, which is one of the most powerful DSP processor in the world.The article is divided into three main part including introduction,design,debug and application. The introduction part including the introduction of PCI bus,QL5064 and TS201.The PCI bus discuss the fundmental material of the PCI bus. The QL5064 part introduces the characteristic of the QL5064 and its internal architucture. The TS201 part tell us more things in detail such as the archicture,multi-processor space,DMA,interrup,load. With the knowledge of the main chips,come up with the main fraim of the DSP processor card and have a thorough discuss on the interconnection of different part. In the debug and application part the article first tells the fundamental principle of hardware debug and test procedure. Then according to the application it introduces the implemention of the high speed communication between the FPGA and TS201 and give the example that uesed in a radar speed measurement system. This 2 DSP processor card has both the powerful real time data process ability and the high speed communication bandwidth. The process ability of this card is up to 4.8GFLOPS or 19.2GOPS and the communication speed is up to 960Mbytes/s in both direction. The high speed communication rate between the DSP and FPGA is from the DSP to FPGA is up to 320Mbytes/s and from the FPGA to DSP is 160Mbytes/s. Now this processor card had passed the test and put into use in an radar speed measurement project.This article is mainly focused on the implementation of the hardware and debug, this card can also be regard as a general develop platform and to go on the R&D research on signal process. The processor card has a flexibity external system interface and with the reprogram ability of the FPGA, we can put this card into use in various real time signal process system without changing the circuit.
