Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is the technology to get the associate data of material and to identify the material by radio frequency. It is a non-contact automatic identification technology. RFID has been used in wide area such as Transportation, Manufacturing and logistics, Anti-counterfeiting and Food Safety etc. A general RFID System is a system, which uses the reader to read the RFID tags and updates the data to PC. PC compares the uploaded data with the data, which in database, to authenticate the data is the same or not. After that, the general RFID system needs unlock the magnetic snap artificially. This operation wastes lots of time and makes the RFID inefficiently. For improving the RFID system's efficiency, this paper designed a new reader, which has functions of read-write, identification, unlock. It expanded the current reader by adding the data identification and magnetic snap unlocking, which make the RFID system more efficient.This new reader is designed by MCU and RFID. It reads the data from RFID tags, and sends the data to the SD Card, in which stored the valid data, for identification. If success, this new reader unlocks the magnetic snap and uploads the identified data to the PC. It improves the working process of old reader, makes the step of unlocking the magnetic snap artificially unnecessary, and raises the efficiency. The works of this paper are as follows.1. Analyzing the process of the current reader in RFID system, adding the functions of unlocking and identification into the current reader based on the analysis of the function.2. Design the composition and structure of the new reader. This new reader is composed by MCU, RFID, RFID tags, module of unlocking and module of communication.3. Design the software and hardware of this new reader materially. This paper has finished the designation of circuit of each module, the communication among each module, the procession of data of RFID tags, and the designation of unlocking control.4. This paper did the debugging work of this new reader, achieved its functions. The objectives of design have been completed.
