The automatic powder machine is a mechatronics equipment that integrateswith powdering and baking tube, which can coat phosphor for spiralenergy-saving lamps. Because there are many shortcomings in the old-fashionedpowder machine, such as covering large area, high equipment cost,non-uniformity besmear powder, wasting materials, environmental pollution andso on, a new type of automated powder equipment is needed to overcomethese shortcomings in the market. Based on a Hangzhou company's R&Dprojects, the main task in this paper is to design and develop a new automaticpowder machine to achieve energy-saving lamps automated powder coating andsome specific function. The device proposed not only has features of smallfootprint, saving material, coating powder evenly, production environmentalprotection, better quality and lower cost, but also greatly reduces the costs ofproduction by using the embedded ARM9control scheme.In this paper,the main work are as follows:1. The structure, electrical system, process of powder coating andtechnology implementation in the existing automatic powder machinemechanical are analyzed, and the deficiencies of the existing equipment are got.According to the analysis of the obtained data, the control parameters andcertain functions needed to achieve in the new equipment are designed.2. According to the project design goal of automatic powder machine, theembedded-control scheme based on ARM9processor core is studied and putforward, and the details of hardware design of control system are given.3. The LCD display drivers, touch screen drive, CAN bus communication,stepping motor drive, and sensor data acquisition and analysis are finished,andcorresponding code in the serial RS-232communications is compiled based onthe LPC2919platform.4. According to the analysis results of the existing equipment and the actualneed of the project, the software design of the control system based on the driveprogram is implemented. And it includes the user module, the date settings module, the decryption module, the interface prompts module,120motor statecontrol, data acquisition and processing, machine unlock processing and chipencryption processing part, etc.5. Through the hardware debug, software debug for system and the wholeequipment debug, the initial design target is achieved and the product batchproduction is realized, which is favored by the users.
