The motor of traditional oil pumping machine always run a stably speed when pumping machine works. Affected by climate, working time etc., the oil quantity is not stably, sometimes more and sometimes is less. If that, the machine will empty pumping when oil less, the machinery will not work efficiency, and it will waste lots of electricity energy. This paper designs a new energy saving method according to the character of oil pumping machine.There are two modifications:first, change one-way pumping to two-way pumping, it will improve work efficient doubly; second, change the frequency control, adjust the work speed of pumping machine according oil amount, speed up when oil field has more oil, reduce speed when less, and this will improve the efficient of equipment and saved energy.Transfer oil signal to PLC through sensor on pump rod, PLC judge it according to programmed procedure, it will control the output frequency and then change the motor speed to reach the goal of save energy. As the motor speed will changed during conversion procedure, and motor will produce energy during frequency control of motor speed, the energy must releasing not return to net, otherwise it will pollute the net, consider that it's just little bit energy, so take braking resistor to release it is the most economic way, inventor as the most important component of energy saving equipment, focus on inventor set according to the character of energy saving equipment, such as start method, control way, speed up and down time, communication way etc.. On software control aspect, it takes PID control which wills more precise control operation of pumping machine as feedback of sensor.In theory, during analysis the motor operation of pumping unit to calculate the maximum motor torque, brake torque and so on, and provide a theoretical basis for the PLC programming, provides theoretical support to energy-saving system. During the commissioning process, the control system can run as designing, the motor start smoothly and achieve to soft-start, while energy efficiency has been verified.
