EDGE (Enhanced Data rate for GSM Evolution) as a GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) to the third generation mobile communication transition program to enable network operators can maximize the use of the existing wireless network equipment, better personal multimedia communication services. EDGE is a cross of the transition between the existing2G network and3G network technology, known as2.5G technology. EDGE terminal equipment today has been able to meet the scale of the test requirements, the country has a number of cities EDGE experiment outlets have been put into use, and better form of development in foreign countries. A vital part of the terminal tester mobile communication industry and the process is the communication needs of the user's satisfaction and quality of communications protection of the premise, the development of the terminal tester is extremely urgent. Author to participate in the Master during the RF measurements of the algorithm model of R&D project of EDGE terminal tester, complete this thesis on this basis.The paper focuses on the design and implementation of the algorithm of EDGE terminal test system RF test indicators and measurement project, the following major elements:First, a brief introduction of EDGE mobile communications background and EDGE terminal at home and abroad RF test system development status and the evolution of trends, according to EDGE terminal test protocol, combined with the needs of3GPP TS51.010protocol specification and terminal tester's EDGE terminal test requires measurement, and describe the software architecture based on PXI hardware architecture and Labview tester to determine the overall design of the tester.followed by an overview of the basics of the EDGE physical layer, combined with the actual situation of the instrument, analyze and summarize the principles and procedures of the8PSK modulation and demodulation. On the basis of in-depth study of the terminal test, the definition of the transmitter RF Conformance Test Project test indicators, test principles and methods, testing process and testing requirements were analyzed and summarized. Expand EDGE RF conformance test project design and implementation, from the time domain, frequency domain, modulation domain three aspects of the design of8PSK modulation related indicators of the RF test algorithms, processes, use of virtual instrumentation software Labview simulation, combined with existing instrumentsequipment, set up a comparison test environment, analysis of test results; concludes with a brief summary and review during the work on the future direction of efforts to make outlook.The paper studies the algorithm has been applied to the Design and Implementation of EDGE terminal tester which the instrument has been through many tests, has been put into use, and good performance.
