The communication terminal as the final link of chain plays a very important role, the quality of which will directly affect the users' perception and experience of service, and also affect its unique advantage at data service. Therefore, terminal test is more important because it affects not only 3G terminals'performance and quality, but also the coordinated development of 3G in China. Without a comprehensive and reasonable test system, the quality and availability of terminal can not be ensured, the interests of consumers can not be guaranteed. Test of cdma2000 terminals have been carried out for many years, mainly based on the standard of 3GPP2, specifications of TIA / EIA and technical literature references of CDG. The R&S of Germany and the United States'Agilent companies occupied the majority of market share of cdma2000 terminals test instruments. Therefore we must develop terminal testing instrument to improve the competitive advantages of domestic cdma2000 industry and o ensure the integrity of the industry chain, which is significant.The main contents of this paper are organized as follows:(1) First introduces the related research background of the subject, and then based on that I study how to apply virtual instrument technology to terminals test according to the relevant international and domestic standards and norms. Virtual instrument is the test system which combines computer resources with the measurement of instrument hardware. Research and development of cdma2000 terminal testing based on virtual instrument technology is practical.(2) This paper designed an integrated test solution of mobile terminal based on virtual instrument, and research test system configuration of hardware and software structure. Its hardware is composed of system simulator, host computer, duplexers and RF modules. Its software adopted the software architecture based on virtual instruments, using PXI bus. Build software systems, on the basis of the existing hardware.(3) The papers focus on conformance testing of the transmitter, summary of a terminal testing protocols, which describes the definition, test method, test process and test requirements of the main transmitter parameters of cdma2000 test system. According to the principle and technology of physical layer of cdma2000,I designed the RF specifications' algorithms. Design program modules of the transmitter parameters by virtual instrument software LabVIEW7.1.(4) Finally, simulate test algorithm modules by building a simulation environment, which based on existing hardware resources and software systems. Then analyzed test results, which show that the existing RF modules can basically test RF specifications correctly, and the precision and accurate of results also meet certain requirements, the error range is small.By and large, the system performance achieved the expected result.
