Research On Library Information Service Based On Micro-blog

Micro-blogging depending on its application characteristics of succinct text publishing and instant messaging distributing, have been worldwide acclaimed in social walks of life, and it is of great significance to promote information dissemination, information exchange and knowledge sharing, which leads to widespread attentions from librarians, information workers and academic researchers. And there have some disadvantages for traditional library in the provision of information service, for instant, the service is not timely, the intercommunication between the librarians and the readers is less and the tacit knowledge cannot be found out adequately. These deficiencies impact the timeliness, pertinences and effectiveness of library information service, reduced the quality and hindered the further development of information services. This paper based on the micro-blogging which have a good user base, flexible release information modes, real-time interaction and freely information dissemination characteristics, in a certain extent, will make it possible to promote the value of the micro-blogging and provide theoretical guidance and practical methods to the library information service.This paper aims at applying micro-blogging to improve library information service, and promote interaction and knowledge sharing between libraries and users. It firstly described the basic concepts and features of micro-blogging and library Information service, then indicated the problems and deficiencies in the traditional library information service. After that it depicts the conclusion of the strengths and advantages of micro-blogging which comparing with the traditional information service mode in the third chapter and analyzes its feasibilities of applications. The fourth chapter analyzes the objectives and principles of utilization of micro-blogging in libraries, and constructs a community model for libraries to conduct library academic information services by micro-blogging based on in-depth theoretical analysis, and then elaborates the specific applications of applying micro-blogging in academic information services of libraries in detail. Finally, the article analyzes the potential risks of applying micro-blogging into information services for libraries and comes up with the corresponding countermeasures in the fifth chapter.The specialty of this paper owes to the topic selection which keeps the leading edges of the forefront of IT applications and disciplines theoretical focus. The methods and models achievement in this research is very practical and help to solving the shortcomings of traditional library information services. The innovation of this paper lies to analyzed the problems and obstacles of traditional library academic information services comprehensively and systematically, and puts forward the strengths and advantages of applying micro-blogging in library information service; makes a fairly detailed and systematic analysis on applying the micro-blogging into library information services; constructs a community model for libraries to conduct library information services by micro-blogging, and discuss the specific realization and implementation of applications applying micro-blogging for information services in libraries in detail and further.
