China is one of the countries that topography is complex and geological disasters are easy happen. In recent years, landslides is in the second place largest geological disaster only next to earthquake, landslides not only caused a certain degree of casualties and property losses, but also caused serious threat for traffic. Because of the high cost and poor performance,Existing landslide monitoring equipment can not be arranged in wide range and hampering the monitoring effect seriously.MEMS-based micro-sensor technology and wireless communication technology gives a broad application for Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) and makes the WSN used in landslide monitoring possible.Based on this and consider the actual needs of landslide monitoring, the paper proposed a landslide monitoring system based on WSN.In order to improve the performance of the monitoring system,this paper focuses on topology control which is one of the key technologies in WSN.Optimization of network topology can not only improve the efficiency of MAC protocols and routing protocols,but also lay the foundation for time synchronization and data integration,it is help to reduce the energy consumption of WSN and extending the life cycle of the network.According to Low Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy(LEACH) algorithm as well as other classic topology control algorithm,this paper proposed improvement ideas for some outstanding problems in LEACH algorithm and modified LEACH algorithm based on the energy and multi-hop. This algorithm optimize circuit consumption and routing overhead in network,and reduce the overall power consumption of the network and extend the network life cycle by changing the cluster head select method and the communications method between cluster head and base station.Finally, NS2 is used to simulate the LEACH algorithm and it's improved algorithm,and the experimental results are analyzed from the network life cycle,the total network energy consumption and the the number of packet which received from the base station.The simulation result show that the improved algorithm can effectively reduce the energy consumption of nodes in WSN,extend the network life cycle and improve the performance of traditional LEACH algorithm...
