Wireless Mesh Network is an emerging wireless communication network, it composites other networks and inherits their features. Its structure can be seen as the upper Mesh routers for wireless networking and similar self-organizing network under the network layer. Its parent network can access to the Internet through the Mesh router. It also can be connected to other networks to assume most of the business. It has a little difference between the ad hoc network.Through the mobile terminal,it can build networks and access to the upper end networks to achieve Internet business. Because of its characteristics , Wireless Mesh Network is developing rapidly. Currently there are many network technologies features in Wireless Mesh Networks. Many of them are belong to the IEEE802 family of wireless protocols. These wireless protocols support wireless Mesh structure, that has laid a solid foundation for the development of Wireless Mesh Network.In the Wireless Mesh Network, there are many routing protocols which will be applied to. Developing a standard routing protocol needs to be resolved in the future. This paper mainly studies the wireless Mesh network routing sub-layer protocol, through an initial understanding of the basic knowledge and coupled with some of the popular routing protocol research and analysis to improve the dynamic source routing protocol.DSR (Dynamic Source) routing protocol is an on-demand routing protocol which now applies to the agreement of self-organizing wireless network. But some of the routing protocols which is beginning to design is not too reasonable in Wireless Mesh Networks. Therefore,they will be improved in DSR. It first changed the flooded routing which requests for hierarchical self-diffusion and be limited by the hops.And it joined the delay of the surplus energy in the request packet forwarding mechanism. How much time delay functiong could be increased to chose the path though the the surplus energy of the nodes. The second path information will be added to the buffer as an alternate path routing. This will improve over a three-point analysis of the detailed description and illustration.Since this would involve NS-2 network simulation software. So there will be a brief overview of NS-2 and describe some of the script which is concerned to some different Network. Finally, the corresponding data demonstrated the feasibility of improvement.
