Today, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) radio frequency identification technology'smomentum of development is so strong, that it has got the recognition and favor of so manyenterprises. Radio Frequency Identification middleware program makes the applicationdevelopment of RFID technology more streamlined and expansion, thus promoting RFID's fullapplication in various areas of the market. It is well known that low cost is a key issue to achievethe mass adoption of RFID technology, the RFID middleware for embedded operating systemenvironment is a more appropriate solution, it is small, fully functional, requires less resources, can directly reduces the system deployment costs, and shortens the development time. The subject of this dissertation is the design and implementation of a RFID middlewarebased on multi-level structured architecture and the embedded operating system. This dissertationmainly focuses on the data processing of the middleware. Embedded operating system has weakcapacity and limited resources, so the middleware's data stream processing and control facesconsiderable challenges. Through rigorous analysis this dissertation provides a solution, in thissolution the embedded RFID middleware is based on the embedded Linux operating system, based on the JAVA programming language, its data processing module is both streamlined andeffective, both its framework and processing objects are standardized. It also has the equipmentand event management functions. On the basis of EPCglobal's ALE(Application Level Event)standard, this middleware can provide a unified and efficient full-featured reader API for RFIDapps'development. This dissertation completes the RFID middleware based on the embeddedLinux operating system and the Java programming language. The testing and analysis results shows that the design of this dissertation is compatible withthe ALE standards, and it can meet the system requirements. This middleware may have veryimportant significance to integrate flexible, advanced, stable RFID apps in real RFID enterpriseapplications.
