| Office Automation (OA) is an important application of computer technology, which can greatly improve office work efficiency. OA system can solve the problems of daily management standardization, increase the controllability and improve the operation efficiency. It can also achieve communication, information transmission and sharing, and cooperative process among multiple departments within an organization. In recent years, new technology triggers more applications of OA systems, with significant improvement in system responsiveness and efficiency. The system architecture has also been enolved from simple client/servers pattern to multi-forms of communication auxiliaries.Based on the OA application systems in colleges and universities, this thesis discusses the J2EE layered architecture and the technologies such as MVC pattern, Struts, Spring and Hibernate frameworks, and the considerations for selection. In order to design a system with better flexibility, operability and performance, this work present an analysis, design and implementation to various layers of data persistence, business service and data presentation, started with the 3-tier architecture of the designed system. We also describe the development process for the SOA pattern used in this system from the aspects of business requirements, service function design and its implementation. The output from the test run of the developed OA system indicates that it achieves the design goals and meets the daily functional requirements from various departments. This system provides a solution to the cooperative operations and processes arcoss multiple departments and solves the problem of"Information Island"caused by the data isolation among different offices. Through the deployment of the system, the internal resources from various units of the college have been integrated to ptomote the circulation of data, standardization of process and improvement of efficiemcy, which eventually provides a much improved work environment. |
