The punching machine is used to process metal coils into certain products, and has been widely used in industrial production. The production line consists of uncoiler, feeder and press. In order to meet the needs of processing with high automation level, PLC control system is designed.This article describes the structure of the line. Uncoiler, feeder, press these three important parts are described in detail; the control requirement and composition of the system are introduced, the system control panel diagram, PLC input and output wiring diagram are given; according to the control system requirements, PLC and touch panel program are designed, the work mode selection, data processing, and work step process are introduced in detail. The communication settings about PLC and touch panel, setting screen, manual screen, auto screen and alarm screen are described in detail, and finally the system debugging step is introduced.The system security can be guaranteed efficiently by using multi-layered security measures, which ensure the operators and machines security.The system consists of PLC, touch panel, servo mechanisms and so on. PLC gets the data from the touch panel, then calculates the data, and sends the pulse to the servo drive to make the servo motor feed.The system has been put into use for more than one year. It is proved that the control system fully displays its advantages such as high precision, rapid response and smooth operation and so on. It ensures an efficient, high-precision feeder, and its accuracy can be up to 1m±0.01mm, fully realizes the requirement.
