Shanghai General Motors (SGM) has three major manufacturing bases, Jinqiao in Pudong, Dongyue in Yantai, and Norsom in Shenyang, as well as four vehicle plants, two powertrain plants and one vehicle technical center. Alone with the developing of SGM, quality of IT service are higher than before for business departments, for assure IT system steady and reliable running, our IT operation and management system will be improved continuously. Network system as main part of sgm IT infrastructure, it provides steady and efficient network communication environment for all kinds of applications and reliable network service for other business departments. Also,our network system must be fit the developing of business,ensure and drive business continuous growth. Network system of SGM have characteristics of large scale, a mass of device quantity and category, much network hiberarchy and many functional areas, complicated device working environment, high system availability, etc. To manage and maintenance such a network, we must build a powerful network managemnent system.This thesis study the design and technical realization of the SGM network mangement system that for improve quality of network service and ensure network steady and secure running. Network management system of SGM is designed by combined network monitor and ITIL operation process, it`s a quality of network service management system focus on network events processing and network performance management. We build network CMDB, and embedded customize network events intelligently by CMDB information in SGM network management system. The technical principle and the way of implement about network syslog or trap events collection, and how to resolve, suppress and filter, enrich and enhance these network events are introduced in detail. How to design and actualize the intelligent event manipulating polciy above on the primary network event processing are analyized also. The technical principle and the way of implement about configuring or managing the network performance KPI thresholds, network performance analyzing and performance trend forecasting are explained in this thesis. Integration of 3 sites network management systems, event and performance centralized presented, and reprot creating are introduced. As well as discuss above on ITIL and ITSM service management basis, how to establish full-scale predictive network operation mode that take network management system as foundation in SGM.We see about working state of sgm network management system, all kinds of events and messages are collected integrallty, event manipulating and presenting is timely and high-powered, network events content are clear, event attributes are exact, content and attributes of some important events are enhanced and enriched by CMDB information, events severity are suit for Shanghai general motors actual network environment. It`s almost no lost event alarm, no wrong or duplicate event alarm on network fault management; Correlativity of several events come from the same network fault are analysised, the root event is found and presented. Network devices performance data are collected, stored and calculated, performance thresholds are set on network performance management, as well as analyze the performance KPI and forecast performance trend, we achieve quantitative and preventive network management in shanghai general motors. Level 1 helpdesk engineers and level 2 network specialists take network management system as center, base on ITIL process platform, the integrated network operation system is established, and guarantee high-availability of sgm network system.
