Today, the quantity of cars increased year by year. The problem of vehicle management, deployment and security is obvious. In order to manage the taxis and buses, and to provide some assurance of security to the drivers, it is necessary to monitor these vehicles. At the same time, with the rise in the number of cars, mobile advertising market has great potential.For this problem, this thesis designs a mobile multimedia terminal with monitoring function. With wireless communication capability, the terminal can not only download the program through the wireless channel and play, but also capture images inside the vehicle, stored and uploaded to the management center through the wireless channel for display, to achieve monitoring of the situation of the car. This study content is as follows:First, based on the demand for image transmission and the features of automotive applications, this thesis compared of the video compression algorithms and the methods of wireless transmission to determine this equipment using MPEG-4 as the video compression algorithm and using GPRS as the wireless transmission.According to the system requirements, this thesis plans the terminal functions and builds the hardware platform. The terminal uses the DSP named ADSP-BF532 of multimedia-communications applications as the main chip, combined with SDRAM and FLASH memory. The peripherals uses video codec chip for video input and output, audio D / A chip and the amplifier for audio output, and connects the GPRS module through the serial port to GPRS wireless communications. GPRS module with built-in TCP / IP protocol stack, above the TCP protocol layer communication front-end protocol and the Management Center protocol is defined. Software design used integrated software development environment VisualDSP + + development to each module.Finally, the equipment passed the three stages of testing that contains indoor testing, environmental testing, and practical applications testing, and verified the device features, the communication protocols, the adaptability in the vibration and high temperature conditions as well as the stability and reliability of the communication protocols and functions such as the monitoring in the actual application environment.
