Shipping is one of the most important means of transportation from of old. Nowadays, goods transportations between countries are still mainly rely on navigation. Thus, the industry of the ship craft will be a promising trade with the continued development of the economy of the world. Parameters of the host machine, electric generator and the equipments served for the host machine and assistant machine are changed during the regular sailing process and indicate the working states of the equipments. In order to acquire the working status of the equipments at any time in different working positions, like central control room, steering room and even the rest room of the crews, a real-time and reliable monitoring and alarm system is needed. The system could remind the operator in charge by alarm with sound and light when the parameters of the equipments are exceed the limit preset, thus improve the ability of accident precaution and save the time of solving problem. Thus, investigation of the technology in ship craft monitoring and alarm system is of importance in nowadays. In this thesis, aimed to the necessity of the monitoring and alarm in ship craft, a practical system was developed with a structure employing the CAN bus technology. Besides, the reliability of the system was improved by using technologies of multiple redundancy and anti-interference. The hardware part of system was modularized, and divided into 5 parts which are switching value acquisition module, 4-20mA current signal acquisition module, PT100 thermal resistance signal acquisition module, electric thermal-couple signal acquisition module and the switching value output module. Even more, the number of the modules could be adjusted according to the scale of the practical system of the ship craft. In the design of the software, the parameters of all the monitoring fields are transmitted to the host machine by the data acquisition modules and are real-time displayed in the screen by using the Citect software. The system design is accord to the requirements of fast, real-time, reliable, intuit which is demonstrated in the criterion of <2006 RULES FOR THE CLASSIFICATION OF SEA-GOING STEEL SHIPS>. This thesis introduced the system form of the monitoring and alarm in ship craft, basic working principle of the CAN bus, hardware principle of the data acquisition module and the basic software designing of the Citect. At last, cooperated with manufacture and put the developed system in-service, good result was acquired as expected.
