As a branch of the economy, the rubber which is an important industry closely contacts with people's daily lives. As the mixing industrial field is mostly dusty, general rubber processing need to be completed with various types of equipments and the automation requirements, so the design of control systems for rubber plays an especially important role in the process. The Programmable Logic Controller as a new special industrial control equipment applied in industrial environments. Through digital or analog inputs and outputs, it can control kinds of production process, which is very suitable for the design of the rubber production control system with high reliability, small size, simple operation.In this paper a rubber factory production line is taken as the background, the production line is equipped with three types of equipments, these are mixer, elevator and mill, by which rubber process can be completed. According to the factory's control requirements, the basic structure of the three devices and the operating principle as well as the actual situation of rubber production line are researched, finally, the production process is analyzed and designed. The overall control system design is completed the two-part work, the one is the electrical control system designing and the other is the design of PLC control system, where the former including the overall demand analysis for electrical control system and the principles designing. Not only the electrical wiring diagram of each part of equipment are completed, but also the control panel and electrical control cabinet are drawn, and the latter including the PLC selection and the software programming. After all the work completed, the whole system is debugged. In the first place, simulation software debugging is conducted, then on-line debugging is carried out to test the performance, and finally the actual production control requirement is satisfied and operation control of the production line is good effect.Some analog quantities such as temperature, pressure are kept near the stable value in the actual control in industry, and the PID control algorithm is usually proposed to realize this goal, but the key is to select appropriate adjustment parameters, so at the end of the article a simple human-machine interface which is providing theoretical reference for the practical application is done for the PID parameter tuning with MATLAB software.
