Research And Realization Of Video Network Storage System Based On Embedded Linux

Traditional video storage technologies have not meet the needs of the security&protection industry while the development of network technology is pushing the improvement of the video storage technology. Because of the expansion of capality,manageability and remote operability, video network storage technology has become the hot research. The paper implements the video network storage and retrieval combined with iSCSI protocol and video storage technology. The major work and achievements are as below:1.Setup the environment for video network storage. It is based on embedded Linux, with AT91RM9200 chip and linux2.6.14 kernel.2.Research on iSCSI protocol and the architecture of iSCSI initiator in linux. Analyse the communication between iSCSI initiator and SCSI. Finish the implementation of iSCSI initiator on ARM platform.3.Realize Berkeley DB on ARM platform. Berkeley DB is used to manage video data and provide convenience for video retrieval and replay.4.The paper designs the strategy of video storage in consideration of video retrieval,including the design of index struct and the placement for video data. Finish the procedure for video storage on the basis of the storage strategy, including searching for video file and hard disk, repairing for video index.5.The design for video retrieval is based on the design of video storage. The paper implements the procedure for video retrieval, including retrieval for hard disk and video file.
