| Along with the rapid development of the present world information technology and computer networks, the global digital has brought the mass data growth. The quantity of storing data increases rapidly. Therefore it comes some new problems, such as information explosion, data island etc. It is a challenge to store and maintenance the mass data for today's corporations. To solve these problems, storage technology has developed from traditional storage structure centered in host computer to network storage system. Storing data under the broad open network environment has become an exigent request for today's corporation.Adopting the advanced iSCSI network storage protocol and virtual storage technology, the project designs a virtualization storage system based on iSCSI (for short VSSBI). Centering in the virtual storage switcher VSSBI works on the distributed network environment. After all the storage crunodes virtualizing to the switcher's local by iSCSI protocol, VSSBI will setup up the distributed RAID storage system. Besides we has designed and implemented the console which wi|| manage the RAID in centralized management form.The research work mentioned in the paper is mainly about:(1) It analyzes the network storage technology and its development trends.(2) It discusses the iSCSI protocol and virtual storage technology. Then combining the predominance of the two, it propounds the design framework of the VSSBI.(3) It describes the design and implementation of VSSBI, which comprises the function design, logical framework, communication protocol and security design. Then it deeply describes the programme of iSCSI protocol, the implementation of the distributed RAID and programme implementation of the virtual storage switcher, the console and some pivotal modules of the system.(4) It describes the function test, the system write/read test and the data redundancy test. Then it analyzes the test results. |
