With the development of information industry and the quickening of the process for triple-network, IPTV(Internet Protocol Television) has become a popular technology gradually which is the integration of the Internet, Multimedia and Communications. At the same time, along with the constant expansion of network, the problems(the scarcity of address space, network security, service quality, multicast support and so on) that the existing IPv4 network brings become more and more prominent. IPv6 will replace IPv4 inevitably, as the next generation of the Internet protocols. Thus, there is much important significance to research the application of IPTV in IPv6 Internet environment.In this paper, it aimed to study the solutions of transmission and distribution technologies for multiple-concurrent flows in IPTV live broadcast system based on IPv6. First, the key application technologies of IPTV such as streaming media transfer protocols and multimedia encoding-compression standard etc were studied. Then, based on IPv6 network environment, the IPTV live broadcast system model was presented, which adopted the IPv6 multicast technology and RTP/RTCP protocols. The system used MPEG-2 encoding-compression standard, and broadcasted multipath standard/high definition programs. Because the traditional transmission method of IPTV multipath-concurrent flow was single and inefficient, a multipath-concurrent flow composite transmission solution was proposed and implemented based on IPv6 flow label technology through the research of IPv6, and the performance is further improved by the improvement of the algorithm. Meanwhile, in order to solve the problems of bandwidth shortage, network congestion and other issues from multipath-concurrent flows transmitting in the network, an improved simulcast scheme and an adaptive content distribution-control strategy based on the demands of clients are proposed, with the two core modules that network condition monitoring and real-time streaming switching-controlling are realized by using multithreading technology. Experimental and analytic results showed that the proposed composite transmission solution improved the transmission efficiency of multimedia flows in the network, and it was simple and efficient for the adaptive content distribution-control strategy to adapt to the changes in the network status.This paper provided essential support conditions to realize fasting channels changing and multiple-picture mode with low resources occupation for terminal system, and this study had active significance to promote the application and development of IPTV live broadcast system in the next generation of the Internet.
