Research And Application Of The Metropolitan Area Network Carried IPTV

IPTV(Internet Protocol TV OR Interactive Personal TV)is the TV based on the IP Carrying Network. No matter the receiving end is a TV or a computer, they are all called IPTV. This thesis analyzes the existing network while considering the joining up techniques of the network user; and solves problems in each tache according to concrete demands of the realization of IP network carrying IPTV business.The IP multicast technology is the one point—to—multipoint communication protocol standard of Internet and the best choice of IPTV. Now most client /server systems all use this protocol. It differs from the traditional IP protocol in that IP multicast technology is more suitable for supporting multimedia application of client /server system. IP multicast technology effectively solves a point transit—to—multipoint receive problem and multipoint transit—to—multipoint receive problem and realize the effective a point—to—multipoint data transition of IP network, so it availably can save the network bandwidth and reduce the network load.The multicast copy is the important part of the whole IPTV carrying network's structure. The point of multicast copy will affect the later demand of bandwidth, the demand of charge system of authentication, the equipments'guarantee for Qos of IPTV business and so on. According to the requests of multicast copy to IPTV business and the features of multicast, the nearer the point of multicast is to the user end, the better the effect is.
