Research On IPv6 Controllable Multicast Application In IPTV

IP multicast is a kind of technology which is efficient utilization of network source. It is considered to be one of the most exciting technology after the emergence of WWW. On the other hand, with triple play pilot expansion accelerated, as well as high broadband construction steadily, the new business model taking home network as the core develop vigorously. AS IPTV market usher in rapid growth, whether IPv6 multicast can serve the IPTV better has become the focus of the industry.In order to overcome the poor controllability of multicast protocol and difficult problems in supervision of multicast business, the industry put forward controllable multicast scheme to solve these problems. But the existing controllable multicast scheme has lots deficiencies. Multicast source control using ACL filter, failed to meet the operational Large-scale deployment. Multicast content regulation, which generally checks the content file of library, is lack of supervision in bad multicast video spread in network; User access control, unilateral using PPPOE access control or IPOE control has its limitations. The former resulted that BRAS will become bottleneck in PTV multicast service large-scale deployment. The latter resulted the illegal user’s eavesdropping and deception because protocol interaction with low safety, So improved the existing controllable multicast scheme to better is the original intention of this paper.The main works of this paper are:First, compared with the traditional cable television from the network architecture, this paper discusses the safety and reliability problem of IPTV operation. Through the laboratory test, the paper shows that its deficiencies of the existing controllable multicast scheme.Second, the paper improves the existing IPv6 controllable multicast scheme. The way similar to Netflow is put forward in the paper to inspect the IPTV multicast video health, and the method is discussed with expert of equipment manufacturers. In the access side, the paper puts forward the combination of PPPOE access control and IPOE control to solve user multicast access control. This method will avoid the BRAS becoming bottlenecks and reduce the illegal user tapping and possibility of deception. So it will ensure that users and operators of interest.The last import part of this paper is the test case design for the controllable multicast. Through two aspects test of the function and performance, the design provides reference for the operator test.
