ZigBee technology is a new kind of wireless communication technology with short distance and low rate, which is mainly used for close wireless connections. Its technical standard is set by IEEE802.15.4 working group. ZigBee wireless technology makes up for the vacancy of wireless communication technology with its short distance, low rate, low delay, low power consumption and low cost advantage, and also satisfy the requirements of wireless sensor network which represents sensors and the organization network. Wireless sensor network does not require higher bandwidth, but low delay and lower power consumption.General packet radio service GPRS is global mobile telecommunications system (GSM) on the basis of data transmission technology. Its itself is a packet of data networks, which supports the TCP/IP protocol and can be directly communicate with Internet. It has the advantages of widely range coverage, high speed data transmission, high communication quality, always online communication and billing according to the flow. GPRS business has the incomparable advantages performance in wireless Internet, environmental monitoring, traffic monitoring, mobile office fields. Since China mobile opened GPRS business since 2002, the applications of this technology become more mature, and GPRS technology is used in various fields along with the perfect development of network.Zigbee network is oriented to the short distance wireless communication, while GPRS network is oriented to the long distance wireless communication, the fusion of these two network can realize advantages complementary and set up a set of flexible, extensible, safety and reliability of the remote wireless monitoring network. With three network convergence pilot work accelerating speed, in order to realize the application, network integration among different networks is imperative. This paper starts from flexibility, expandability and realizability to conduct the research on the fusion of wireless network technology application between Zigbee wireless networks with short distance and GPRS with long distance.This paper firstly introduces the concept and the framework agreement, of ZigBee and GPRS technology, and then introduces ZigBee-GPRS gateway's design and implementation, and remote wireless sensor network node of the hardware and the method of software design, after that accomplish ZigBee and GPRS fusion networking. The node of ZigBee sensor uses S3C2410 as the monolithic processo,and uses CC2530 as a wireless data transceiver chip. GPRS module uses SIM300 module. The user can remote control via terminal operation, and then it can obtain the sensor information of each internal node of ZigBee wireless sensor network. Thus realizes the communications between mobile phones and the control to each node of the remote ZigBee wireless sensor network. Compared with a similar system, this system has the simple implementation and strong maneuverability and perfect function and the actual value of popularization. The final test shows that the wireless sensor network has very good remote monitoring sex, scalability, and portability, Which enables remote monitoring wireless sensor.
