Niosâ…ˇprocessor which circumference CPU has integrated storage and ext-ernal equipment is a kind of single chip. Its characteristics are similar with the mpu or the microcontroller.different with the fixed mpu, the Nios controller i s a configurable soft processors, "can configure" means its building system and its performance or function can increase and decrease to meet performance or price of the requirements according to user requirements. "Soft nuclear" mean s the c-ore of the CPU is provided in the form of software and can be downl oaded t-o FPGA programmable chips, instead of the traditional, not modified si licon chi-ps form. In other words, Altera companies never sell Nios chip, but only sell the empty FPGA chip. The user modify and config the Nios process or code in t-he forms of software and external equipment, comply with specifi c requirements ultimately, then download the system to the FPGA chip Altera company.Altera company provides a set of general external devices for Niosâ…ˇprocessor, Designers can also create custom external equipments and integrate them into the Nios processor system. For a high performance system with the requirement that the CPU execute certain code, we usually can create a custom with similar function of external equipment hardware to replace this part of the software. The work rate by hardware is more rapid than software work rate, which will make the performance of the system. When the custom external equipment is processing data, the CPU has more time to deal with other tasks.In this paper, we introduces the method and the process to construe and design the SoPC hardware platform,also give the process to make external equipment USB IP nuclear. This paper was based on Nios embedded soft nuclear platform, and take the transplantation ofÎĽClinux operating system for controlling t-he USB port for example. We discusses some of the basic characteristics on Niosâ…ˇprocessor, as well as how to transplant theÎĽClinux operating system, in Niosâ…ˇIDE software, including the kernel customization, and the root file-system compiling, and the communication with super terminal after being compiled. My subject confirmed the SOPC system design and construction is successful, taking to read the content of U disk for example. This design completed on FPGA and got the right result, which have an important reference value for the embedded system development and the operating system's transplant SOPC.The SOPC technology is not mature and still in infancyn, so the material and reference designs are scarce. My subject grope and attempt to develop the system in. This paper has done the foundational work for the application of the SOPC technology development and more in-depth research...
