2010 Shanghai World Expo is the second largest pageant that China has held. Like 2008 Olympic Games, Shanghai Expo has attracted the attention from the whole world. So it is of great significance to analyze China's media reports of 2010 Shanghai Expo and find out how to enhance China's international influence.This paper takes the expo reports of CCTV English Channel and International Channel Shanghai as research objects, and analyze the report text from the macro-level, medium-level and low-level frameworks, focusing on the aspects of the coverage's subjects, the process of theme construction as well as the keywords and the tendency of reports. According to this paper, China's English TV channels mainly focus on the introduction of Expo Pavilions, the ceremonies of national day and the daily service information as well as the influence of Shanghai Expo. Through the issue framework and the story framework, China's TV media has formed a harmonious image of the hospitality of the Chinese people, the Chinese government's efforts to host the event and the international opinion to support Shanghai Expo. By using the official sources as the mainly news source and the frequently use of positive words, China's TV media has presented a powerful and prosperous country which has the strong ability to host Expo in front of the world.With CNN expo report as a reference, this article also tries to give some suggestions to improve China's overseas reporting by comparing the differences between Chinese and Western Expo reports from previous analysis. In the aspect of news reporting concept, China's English TV media should establish an international way of thinking, establish an objective discourse system, give out more balanced cover ages, and make good use of Chinese elements as well as strengthen international communication. While in reporting skills,China's TV media should change the grand narrative style, increase the first-hand news sources, make good use of news backgrounds, and use flexible reporting style.
