| Computer-aided technologies such as CAD/CAE/CAM/CAPP have been widely used in the field of manufacturing with the rapid development of science technology, which promote the development of social productivity while bringing new challenges to enterprises. Due to the application of new technology, a great deal of product data information has been produced and stored in the computers of different network architectures, forming so-called Information Isolated Islands. It is necessary for enterprise to solve the questions of how these precious product information resources are integrated into a management system and how they are fully shared, utilized and communicated within the enterprise. Product Data Management (PDM) is produced as a management concept and technology based on this background, which manages all information and processes of products.However, it is a step-by-step process for enterprises to apply PDM, especially for domestic small&medium sized companies because of technological and financial restriction. Based on PDM philosophy and the fact of domestic electronic industry, the main function of PDM system is analyzed in this paper. On the research of design file package of electronic devices and AutoCAD secondary R&D tools, an AutoCAD-based Product Construction Management (PCM) system is established by using tools of Visual C++6.0 platform and OpenDWG Toolkit. In the course of system development, several critical problems are solved, including the way to read product structure information from DWG files, the way to traverse product design file package, organization and storage of product structure data, establishment of product structure tree, management of BOM and database technology etc.. The R&D efforts in the paper conform to the current fact of domestic electronic industry. By this system, product management cost can be considerably reduced and the share, application and communication of product data information can be achieved to an extent. |
