As the focal point of information flow, material flow and control flow in enterprise, manufacturing plant is the source of enterprise efficiency, and thus the focus of enterprise management. MES system advances the information process of a workshop, covert the records and processing of manual handling to electronic storage and transmission, which greatly reduce the time of information search and process, and extend the preservation effectiveness of historical information to improve production efficiency. However, the traditional MES system has the defects of poor generality, poor integratability, and lack of interoperability and weak ability of re construction. These features make the manufacturing execution system couldn't change on-demand quickly to meet the needs of management.In this paper, it builds a service-oriented system service model, then designs and implements a service-oriented MES system of a workshop, based on the characteristics of manufacturing business processes in a workshop and combined with SOA technologies. The SOA manufacturing execution system is based on open industry standards, it has the features of language independent, loosely coupling, cross-platform, good encapsulation, and location transparency. At the same time, for the system is service-oriented, it could quickly adjust the system function module according to business process changes.The main research work is as follows:(1) It proposes a solution of service-oriented MES system, based on the information needs and business processes of a workshop. Determine the system components based on the comprehensive analysis of MES system and the business processes of participants. It includes project management module, scheduling module, and production monitoring modules. Those organic combinations of all parts improve the productivity and promote the information process of a workshop.(2) Establish the service component model of service-oriented MES system. Build the service component module by studying the business processes characteristics of MES system and SOA service encapsulation technology. The core of the system is the service-oriented encapsulation of business functions and business processes; it solves the rapid reconstruction in the use of BPEL orchestration services and SDO data transmission.(3) Design the service-oriented MES system. According to the model established, it completed the function of the module, business processes, and detailed design of system database, achieved and verified the service-oriented MES system.In this paper, it provides an abstract design and specific implementation of service-oriented manufacturing execution system. At the same time, combined with theoretical model and system design, it verified the system we proposed provides a effective way to rapidly response to business changes for company.
