Wireless Sensor Network(WSN) is a new type of Wireless Network with low expense and intelligence, which integrates sensors, embedded operation system, wireless communication, computer network technology.The implementation of node for AMRS(Automatic Meter Reading System) includes the design of sensor node and the software running on the node. The hardware module includes microprocessor and RF module. Depending on the requirements of AMRS and the specification, we use MSP430F1611 low-power MCU and Multi-channel RF chip CC1100E to design the node. Meanwhile, Contiki issued to implement the software. The main job of this thesis is to compile Contiki OS under IAR successfully, and constructing a platform with CC1100E and Contiki. A kind of data access system with Rime stack is implemented, and analyzes how the processes and threads work in Contiki, the Chameleon Architecture and Rime stack in Contiki.Finally, some experiments are taken out in Contiki, the results of which show that Contiki OS can support the platform very well and the communication around 470MHz~510 MHz ISM/SRD band is quite stable and with good quality. The communication with Contiki can reach a far distance, and the barrier can be avoided under Mesh network.
