As the core component of control system in automobile, electronic control unit directly affects the quality and reliability of the whole vehicle control and traffic safety. The growing demand of electronic control unit and the importance of human life and property show that the reliable operation of automotive electronic control unit is imperative. This gives rise to the requirements of auto safety research and related standard guidance in the field of automobile.This paper studies the reliability indices and the related standard in automotive electronic control field, and mainly analyzes the core thought of international safety standards IEC61508, such as risk assessment, safety integrity level and safe life cycle. We summarized many kinds of technology which are used for the safety in all phases of life cycle. In addition, this paper analyses the reliability technique of freescale MPC5643L security chip from architecture angle, models the chip the practically, and introduces the hardware integrity level of IEC61508 function security certification by markov model in detail.Based on the key thought of MPC5643L chip, this paper uses hardware redundancy and information redundancy technology which replicates hardware modules and uses single-error corrected and dual-error detected coding and triple-module redundancy method to enhance fault tolerance function of the memory,uses compare unit to check the replication sphere,and uses fault process unit to collect and handle the fault singles. Finally, we implement dual-core redundancy system in SoCLib simulation platform, proving the validity and feasibility of the system design.In the dual-module redundant reliability system, we use fault injection method to get accurate reliability analysis results. In the memory system,we use fault injection method to inject single bit and dual bits error, verifying functionality of the SEC/DED code.
