With the development of Wireless communication technology, the peoples have more and more requirements of the mobile office and mobile entertainment. They are no longer satisfied with the voice communication, and need the mobile phone to be a powerful mobile terminal which supports multimedia and multi-functions. Due to volume and screen size limitation, the processing ability of mobile phone is still far away from that of personal computer(PC). The PCs, including notebooks, are not inbuilt with module that connected into public telephone network, due to the normal design mode of personal computer. The PC needed external peripheral to connect public telephone network, which is normally the 3G wireless network card.To meet these requirements, this paper proposes a solution based on the TD-SCDMA mobile phone chip set platform from S company. This thesis describes the design of a 3G mobile phone which is integrated with an additional 3G wireless network card, thus it merges the function of wireless network card into the mobile phone. This enables the PC access to the Internet through the public telephone network by a 3G mobile phone and a data cable at any place and any time.In order to make the wireless network and mobile telecommunication existed into one system, we do a lot of researches on the integration, which make the two functions compatible and co-workable. The similarities and differences of the two equipments were compared respectively. For the similarities, we make it reusable, and we modified the other parts for compatibly. Especially, we design a mutually exclusive set of instructions to maximize the cooperation of the mobile phone and wireless network card, and make sure there is no conflicts between them. The implementation process encounters a number of crucial issues, such as keep mobile network reachable, concurrency of different functions, high speed of data transmission, automation driver and flexible UI, etc. One part of the paper analyses the cause of the problems and the solutions. In conclusion, it reaches the presupposed targets that merge network card into mobile phone with two functions in one device and can be used plug in and play. This achievement fully utilizes the chipset resources and greatly enhances its capability and competency.
