In the background of office automation rapid development, the current digital copier has become an indispensable office equipment. However, the digital part of the digital copier is the key factor to determine its competitiveness.In view of this, the project focus on the digital copier module—the original signal acquisition and processing. The system includes hardware and software components.In the hardware system, color linear CCD completes the original image scanning. The output analog signals of CCD is processed by the analog signal processing circuit, and then converted to digital signals by ADC. Then, the FPGA collects the digital signals after AD. The normal wok of CCD and ADC needs the rigorous driving signals, which are provided by the FPGA. Then, the main processor DSP and the co-processor FPGA make up the digital signal processing circuit, which processes the digital signals. In order to achieve rapid data acquisition and the fast transfer between FPGA and DSP, the system uses SDRAM chips and dedicated FIFO chips as temporary data storage and transmission.In software system, VHDL language (one of the hardware description language) is used to write the CCD and ADC driver program in the QuartusⅡsoftware. After that, the whole project is compiled, synthesized and simulated. And then, the executable file is burned to the configuration chip of FPGA. C language is used to write the digital signal processing program of DSP. At last, the corresponding configuration file is written on the basis of DSP hardware usage.After completing the hardware design and software principle design of the information acquisition and processing system, the circuit boards is made. Then, the experimental platform is build. And the system is debugged. After many revision and improvement, the design realizes the perfect cooperation of hardware and software. In different light intensity, an oscilloscope collects a group of CCD output signals waveform figures. Those waveform figures can test and verify the system's function. In the mutual cooperation of hardware and software, this system can accomplish the original information collection and processing of the digital copier. The testing results meet the expectations.
