People’s ID card copy plays a very important role in daily lives, Currently IDcard copy is mostly based on the MFP(Multi-Function Peripheral). Copying the IDcard by universal MFP can not identify the authenticity of the ID card, and has somedrawbacks such as easy to disclose personal privacy information, operationcomplicated, the waste of resources and environmental pollution. To solve theseproblems, the article will research a dedicated ID card copier which can identify theauthenticity of the second generation resident ID card, can ensure the user’s personalprivacy information security, and has the features of convenient operation,energy-saving and environmental protection.The dedicated ID card copier has its own function targets, the article willdetermine the copier’s wording principle by its design targets and design the overallproposal. In the proposal, the targets are divided into several relatively independentfunctional modules, such as the master controll module, the scan module, the printmodule, the second-generation ID card identification module and the ribbon residualprivate information erasure module. The module design needs select the module’skey components. The master controll module selects DSP and CPLD as the controlunit to control the machine’s work flow and key timing; the scan module selects theContact Image Sensor as the image acquisition component and the analog front-endas the simple analog signal processor and A/D convert component; the print moduleselects the Thermal Printer Head as the core component to complete the image printby thermal transfer technology; the second-generation ID card identification moduleselects the dedicated second-generation ID card reader to identify the authenticity ofthe second-generation ID card; the ribbon residual private information erasuremodule selects the Positive Temperature Coefficient thermal resistor module toerase the ribbon residual private information. After the components selection, thearticle designs these components’ peripheral circuits and simulates the key controltiming and high-speed signal’s impendance matching according to thesecomponents’ datasheets or specifications.Based on the designed hardware platform, the article discourses the imageprocess algorithms-edge detection which is used in image cropping and the halftonealgorithms which is used to convert the scanning data to printing data, the articlealso expands the description of the ID card copier’s control software hierarchy andthe working flow from the point of view of the embedded software design, showsthe specific implemations of the ID card copier.The article designs and produces the PCB which can be inserted with each module designed above, sets up the control system which core is DSP, installs anddebugs the control system on the ID copier prototype, studies the prototype’shardware timing, the correctness of high-speed bus signals, the effect of informationerasing and copying and so on by experiment, the experimental results shows thatthe control system developed by this article can meet all the technical requirementsof the ID copier.
