The development of computer network and data base technique provides a good background and opportunity for research and development of on-line examination system, as well as puts forward higher requirements for on-line examination system. This thesis introduces related theory and technical background of on-line examination system, and designs and realizes Web networking test system, which aims to make full use of existing computer software and hardware resources and network resources to achieve paperless examination in order to avoid shortage of the traditional manual examinations.This system which adopts popular B/S three-layer structure and uses.NET framework and ASP.NET development platform has good versatility, scalability and security. In accordance with the function module, this system is divided into five subsystem: question bank management, test formation management, testing, marking assessment, security guarantee, and all of them realize many functions such as test editing, test bank formation, paper bank management, user rights, test formation management, on-line examination, auto marking, test analysis, data encryption, two-factor authentication and so on. This system supports graphics, images, symbols and other information input, enriches the test database resources. Test formation management uses XML technology which combined with genetic simulated annealing algorithm to test formation and paper management, designs various kinds of test formation model -manual, randomized and template, and make test formation structure more reasonable by using multiple test formation signs such as questions of discrimination, difficulty, scope of knowledge points, kinds of questions and so on. The system gives a automatic marking attempt to programming class questions, and preliminary realize the automatic marking function of code of subjective topic. Based on data statistics and analysis of test scores, it can generate statistics charts, more intuitive and timely feedback the examination information of students, thus obtain the reliability and validity of test, thereby more accurate measure the exam results. In this system, it design three user rights of administrators, teachers, examinee. The administrator users can have daily data maintenance for exam system; The teacher users can improve the management of test bank; The examinee users can inquire results and participate in the corresponding examinations in the specified time. Adopt security guarantee system design, and carry on identity verification and permission verification for account login to ensure the confidentiality and safety of test bank.The examination system based on Web that designed in this thesis reflects optimization and improvement compared with previous on-line testing system in question bank management, test formation management and marking assessment. It effectively solve the drawbacks of traditional test, and improves the efficiency of test management and fairness and scientificity of testing work. It also realizes efficient teaching assessment, and effectively examines the effectiveness of teaching and reflects the real level of examinee. This system can meet the needs of individualized test, as well as give learners effective guidance, so as to realize the examinee's purpose of self-test, self-diagnosis, self-promotion.
