RFID technology, as one of the most promising technology in the 21 st century, had a tremendous impact to the production and social life of the people. In the 2008 Olympic Games,2009 National Games in Jinan, the 2010 Shanghai World Expo and the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games, RFID technology have been used. RFID technology will be in the wisdom and the earth, smart city, smart logistics and the construction of things and will play a major role in the development process. In comparison the low frequency RFID, worked in the 860-960MHz UHF band (UHF) radio frequency identification system has the advantages in reading of distance, speed, etc, and RFID technology is a hot spot development of the international. UHF RFID technology, ultra-high frequency RFID reader is a critical infrastructure, but due to late start and the slow development of integration IC technology of RFID, the domestic current is lack of independent intellectual property rights of UHF RFID readers. The research on UHF reader of RFID technology can contribute to RFID intellectual property rights and enhance the integration of IC technology, meanwhile helping our country to participate in drawing up the industry standards.To address the above problems, this issue presents a design of UHF RFID reader using a common communications representative chip can meet the ISO/IEC 18000-6 and EPC Class 1 generation 2 international UHF frequency standards. Firstly, discussed the development of domestic and international status and trends of RFID technology, the focus of ISO/IEC 18000-6 UHF protocol physical interface and communication; secondly, completed control of the digital base-band analog circuit and the structure of the RF analysis and design; thirdly, described in the reader protocol command system software design, processing, anti-collision algorithm, the system control method and the FPGA in the reader system timing control and data acquisition interface design, CRC check and decoding the realization of other functions; finally, the reader is given three different debugging process and UHF radio frequency card reader test results, after analysis of the design of reader recognition agreement in line with the UHF read range, power, etc. technical requirements.In the design of digital baseband control part used the architecture of the low-power DSP combined with the FPGA of, DSP chips to achieve agreement in the command processing, anti-collision algorithm, the system control can improve the algorithm's execution rate, in the FPGA chip To achieve encoding and decoding and interface control for the subsequent upgrade to a great deal of flexibility, meanwhile helping to integrate RFID IC Technology.
